Allergens in coconut milk
Coconut milk is not milk, and coconut is not a named UK tree nut. A curry made only with coconut milk does not get a milk or nut emphasis from the coconut. Allergens come from the paste, the fish sauce or the garnish, not from the tin itself.

The usual pattern
The tin is coconut and water. Some brands add guar gum or sulphites — check. Creamed coconut and coconut cream are the same teaching point. Dairy cream used instead is milk.

How to write it on the label
PPDS food needs the name of the food and a full ingredients list, with the 14 allergens emphasised every time they appear. The Food Standards Agency’s PPDS guidance is the practical reference. A typical ingredients fragment looks like this — yours must follow the specification of the product you actually use.

Curries, satay, porridge, vegan desserts and ice lollies.
Emphasising nuts because the tin says milk
Both instincts are wrong. Do not emphasise milk or tree nuts for coconut. Do emphasise the allergens that are actually in the dish.
A few dessert mixes combine coconut with milk powder or almond. That product is no longer plain coconut milk.
