Gingerbread label example

Gingerbread biscuits bagged for sale are wheat. Butter brings milk and some doughs contain egg. Ginger, treacle and syrup are not Annex II allergens. A mix that includes barley malt extract adds barley.

What this teaches

Royal icing on a gingerbread person is often dried egg white, a second egg ingredient.

Is this PPDS?

Bags of biscuits you pack before sale are PPDS. Biscuits loose in a jar for the customer to bag themselves may not be.

Questions

Is treacle gluten?

Black treacle and golden syrup are not gluten cereals. Barley malt extract, if you add it, is.

Is ginger an allergen?

No. Ginger is not one of the 14.
