Chicken tikka wrap label example

A chicken tikka wrap packed before sale is wheat from the tortilla and milk from the yoghurt marinade. The paste decides whether mustard, celery or soya join them. A dairy-free marinade is a different label.

Wheat tortilla, chicken, yoghurt (milk), tikka paste (mustard, celery), mint yoghurt (milk).

  • Wheat — tortilla
  • Milk — both yoghurts
  • Mustard and celery — if the paste contains them

What this teaches

Two yoghurts mean milk emphasised twice. The paste is a compound ingredient and has to be broken out.

Is this PPDS?

Wraps made and sealed before the lunch queue are PPDS. A wrap rolled in front of the customer is not.

Questions

Is tikka always dairy?
A yoghurt marinade is milk. A paste-only oil marinade may not be. Follow the recipe you packed.
Do spices need emphasis?
Cumin and paprika do not. Mustard and celery in the paste do.
